New wave of health oriented Cafes brings fresh, flavoursome and creative dishes to Bali.

_MG_1906Café  Cinta

There are cafes popping up like mushrooms on the Berawa Stretch, but Café Cinta sets itself apart by serving not only attractive, flavourful, made-from-scratch food, but also has unparalleled views! Nothing beats a quiet, relaxing morning sipping on Cinta’s specialty coffee, overlooking the stretch of emerald green ricefields at the back.

Open for brekkie, lunch and dinner, everyone will find their favourite dish here – creative, fresh and tasty. Cinta doesn’t compromise on quality and they’ve gone that extra mile to get the top notch supplier of every ingredient used.

They’ve got fluffy, whole grain bread, made exclusively for them by a French chef, homemade cheeses, fat, healthy ducks for their duck ragu, delivered from Sumatra, and premium Australian grass-fed Angus beef. All their sauces are made in house.
Cinta’s dinner menu has already won them a loyal following, as they are always packed. Especially popular is their big chunk of tender tuna steak, always grilled medium rare to perfection.

On those colder, dry season nights, nosh on one of their creamy soups – guaranteed to warm you right up. The champion here is the savoury pumpkin.

Come here for traditional, homemade pasta. They taste better than at most Italian restaurants and Cinta also has special wood-fired oven. They offer freshly tossed salads, a salad bar and their specialty – savoury and sweet crepes. The rock star of their breakfast menu is the must-try fried eggs served in a skillet with veggies and baby potatoes.

Cinta advertises itself as an extremely family-friendly place and they even sacrificed the parking lot to give way to a kid’s playground.

For those with a sweet tooth, the café has a wide range of homemade desserts, try their specialty: the traditional Russian dessert, Napoleon.

Whatever you crave at any time of day, this newcomer to Canggu has got you covered with their extensive and innovative menu. You can’t really go wrong with anything at Cinta.

Don’t miss out on this open, light-filled gem of a café tucked away on one of the quieter streets of Kerobokan.

There are enough good food options on the extensive menu here, as they offer a little bit of everything. Brunch, lunch, dinner, Western or Asian – they’ve got you covered in Nebula.

Their menu boasts countless breakfast offerings – you cannot go wrong with their magic bowls – with  acai, dragon fruit  or berry base, you name it they have it! Topped with crunchy granola, decorated with fresh fruits and served in pretty wooden bowls.

Taste also matches the striking presentation. You can splash it down with a shot of wheatgrass or a bright yellow Javanese shot of tumeric, also knows as “cure for all ailments”!

Egg lovers wont be disappointed either: you can choose from all the classics or design your own.  Nebula is certainly ideal for a casual brunch, and offers great quality and value for money. Pair your goat cheese omellete or popular smashed avo and poached eggs with their famous green juices or fruit smoothies – the brekkie of champions that will keep you going for hours!

Nebula is a go-to place for caffeine addicts as well, their own Nebula espresso blend is very well nuanced and translates perfectly in milky coffees.

Tons of starter options to choose from too, designed for sharing and just as scrummy coupled with a main.

We cannot recommend the crunchy quinoa salad from the “Healthy greens” section for a light, nutritious lunch more. Or flip through to the “Rice Festive” for some flavourful Indonesian classics like fried rice or nasi campur – a mix of veggies, meats and rice. They also serve a few Korean and Thai dishes, if you feel like experimenting with Asian flavours.

“Plates & Boards” will satisfy meat eaters with their succulent pork belly tacos and please Italian food lovers with favourite pasta dishes – such as lighter aglio oglio, and heavier cream sauce and bacon packed carbonara.
Order their ultimate club sandwich or a burger if you are really famished – those big guys are as big as your head!

It’s minimalist décor with a Scandinavian feel. Excellent aesthetics on the walls and prices very reasonable for the area. It has huge glass walls facing directly onto one of the last remaining patches of ricefield in the area! Very refreshing.

A must go if you want quality food, friendly efficient service and a calming environment, with a very relaxing atmosphere.

_MG_2282Eden Café

Unpretentious Eden Café set off on a seemingly daunting mission – to show that eating healthy doesn’t have to ruin your wallet.
They use only high quality, locally sourced ingredients and turn them into nutritiously balanced, flavoursome meals. Everything  is made from scratch without cutting corners. And judging by how packed the tiny café always is – people are all about the “affordable, healthy food” revolution.

Eden’s extensive menu covers nourishing breakfasts and energizing lunches, and the café  has already won a loyal following for their best value smoothie bowls. Try the creamy, bright pink Cheshire bowl with house-roasted granola and you’ll be hooked, too.

They pride themselves on their signature thick smoothies, made out of freshly cut, frozen fruits and premium quality imported protein powder.

And it doesn’t end there – at Eden they roll their own tortilla wraps, and make their legendary home made dips, sauces and preserves fresh every day.

You cannot leave the little oasis without ordering their signature fluffy, moist, soft pancakes –  the neat stack lands on your plate smothered  in all-natural syrup sabu –mmmmmm.

The less acidic Australian Lazumba Coffee will give you the caffeine kick without the heartburn. Order it with one of Eden’s in-house made milks – coco or cashew for a life changing experience.

On top of that you can indulge in non-GMO, locally sourced soy milk, and the new cafe on the block also imports the “real deal” matcha all the way from Japan.

Chocolate enthusiasts will fall for their warm concoctions whipped up from raw choco bars supplied by the Willy Wonka of Canggu – chocolatier, Mr. Bob. Make sure you try the 100% pure one; for an adventurous taste palate!

To name this little gem of a café Eden fits perfectly, because it really is a total food paradise!

An iconic, Melbourne café scene influenced, modern joint with an urban feel, that serves super popular all-day breakfasts, scrumptious lunches, and now you can pop in for a mouthwatering dinner as well.

The menu behind this famed boutique café is crafted exclusively by their executive chef Jethro Vincent; the creative force of the Sisterfield’s kitchen, bringing traditional cooking techniques to the table.

The team prepares their own in-house made preserves, sauces, nut milks, icecream, as well as velvety buttermilk, ricotta and cultured butter – all that yuminness prepared from scratch from milk delivered fresh daily.

The gorgeous  presentation of the meals has won the café a loyal Instagram following, but how about the food?

The menu at Sisterfields is a carefully curated selection of healthy, indulgent and downright decadent meals, with a big focus on freshness and taste.

We have eaten our way through Bali and can say nobody does poached eggs quite like Sisterfields. Order any dish with them and you will always get a consistent quality, with the yolk perfectly runny and hardening around the edges – beyond eggcelent!

Try our favourite, Turkish poached eggs – they will land on your table in a big ceramic bowl jammed full with popular quinoa, freshly tossed side of salad and cold smoked salmon. It comes with a crunchy sourdough on the side. Party in your mouth guaranteed!

You would also miss out not trying one of their signature dishes. Start your day off right with the prettiest acai berry bowl on the island whipped out from antioxidant packed blueberries,
banana, almond milk, sprinkled with goji berry granola and adorned with edible flowers.

They serve authentic, high Australian standard specialty coffee. The baristas are super skilled and make sure the milk in your coffee is always served at the ideal 70-degree C temperature. That technique allows for all the tastes of the beans to fully develop. Chances are the barista will craft a cute bunny in your flat white, and what’s a better way of starting your day then with a bunny in your coffee?

Sisterfields also serves a wide array of nutritiously balanced lunch mains, proving that not all healthy meals are mean, green and utterly tasteless. Their selection and impeccable presentation of salads is, again, unparalleled. There is no need to compromise on the quality or flavour when it comes to taking care of your body right. After all, green is the new black!

For maximum salad enjoyment we recommend you get the courgette mint feta and falafel salad, packed with crispy quinoa, chilli and tangy lemon vinaigrette dressing. Another salad superstar is pumpkin and whipped feta salad with Vadouvan cashew nut granola, blood vein sorrel, chorizo and apple jam.

To sum it all up, you can’t go wrong with anything in Sisterfields. Just the epic brunches and stellar coffee will have you coming back for more!
