Sofitel Brunch

While Bali flourishes with luxury hotels and guests from around the world, the weekend brunches don’t fall short in satisfying their international taste buds. With more than a few buffet brunches to choose from on the island, one in particular stands out for me, that being the ever so popular Sofitel brunch in their Cut Catch Cucina restaurant.

After walking through the exquisite hotel, past all the smiling staff, and down a large grand staircase, you’re soon greeted by a friendly host at the Cut Catch Cucina offering cold towels and a healthy welcome drink. The interior of the restaurant is nicely laid out with floor to ceiling windows next to a gorgeous swimming pool and lush gardens, and as many families also attend the brunch there is a kids playroom off to the side carefully watched by staff so the adults can enjoy their play time as the children enjoy theirs. There’s also a live semi-acoustic band, soft-spoken, and never too noisy to get in the way of a conversation.

As the restaurant is named “Cut Catch Cucina” the layout and design was a perfect match. In the “Cut” area you have all of their fine meat selections including Angus, Wagyu, Kurobuta, and organic poultry, roasted to perfection and so juicy you will want to ask the chef… how do you do it?!? “Catch” offers fine seafood including crab, clams, fish, mouth-watering prawns, and big fresh oysters – add some lemon and a light sauce and your trip to paradise is now complete! “Cucina” serves fine dining Italian dishes including some delicious pizzas, pastas, and more!

Besides all their meats, salads, seafood, and modern Italian selections, one of my personal favourites is the fine selection of cheese, pate, sautéed mushrooms, capers, olives, fresh smoked salmon, sushi, croissants, pastries, and healthy multi-grain breads! You can even ask the server for some of their specialty French dishes made just for you and brought to your table, absolutely incredible.

Still hungry for more? Well if you haven’t fallen asleep on the table from eating too much, or passed out from the endless supply of free-flow champagne, wine, beer, and spirits, you may just have room for desert! If you do have a sweet tooth then your first impression with the desert selection is that you’ve died and gone to candy heaven. The chocolate fountain alone makes you want to dive your face into it and just start drinking, but let’s resist temptation and act a bit more classy, dip some fruit in there, after all this is a five start resort. There are trays full of tiramisu, cheesecakes, crème brulee, freshly made crêpes, a big ice-cream machine, and literally drawers full of candies, macaroons, cookies, and bonbons – so make sure you save some room!

As the next weekend approaches I’d suggest you gather your friends, family, or loved ones, book a table, and prepare for an unforgettable experience. This delicious brunch is offered every Saturday and Sunday from 11am – 3pm, starts at IDR 399k ++ and includes all the food you can eat, free juices, moktails, and coffee and tea. Or you can opt for the alcohol brunch package at IDR 599k ++, which I would highly recommend. On top of all the food it includes free flow sparkling wine, house red and white, Bintang beer, and some cocktail options – really great value. If you really want to go all out you also have the option of a premium package at IDR 1,299,000 ++ and includes French champagne and wines, Heineken beer, and a variety of spirits and cocktails. We decided to splurge on the premium package and needless to say we had a full stomach, some red cheeks, and a big smile by the time we left, it was well worth every rupiah. Can’t wait to go back.
