Peace of Sentosa

 Peace of Sentosa

It’s possible to live the high life at Sentosa Private Villas and Spa or relax in any style you wish. The choice is yours and your companions, and the options are boundless.

Sentosa Villas in the heart of Seminyak offers much for the different catagories of tourist coming to Bali.  Couples and families, people looking for the action or those wanting a restful getaway, it’s all there. Now open for over four years, Sentosa is as established as the garden and foliage greeting you at the entrance.

As far as villa complexes in the area go, Sentosa is large. From the expansive and welcoming entrance and swimming pool area, it is more of a resort than a boxed-in villa complex like so many on offer in the Seminyak area. It has its own international standard, fine-dining restaurant, Blossom, with new American chef, William Collier in the kitchen. There’s a complete gym with the latest, state-of-the-art equipment, including flat-screen TV sets hung on the walls in front of the machines – a must for me while spending a half hour on the treadmill. The luxurious spa facility, aptly named Luxe Spa, has a whole host of opulent treatments overseen by trained professionals, and upstairs on top of the restaurant there is a function room for all kinds of larger gatherings.

The cool, modern styling of Sentosa sets the pace for a holiday in Seminyak, Bali’s premier dining and nightlife area, and you are bang in the middle of the zone in Sentosa villas. The resort is ideal for younger people with a selection of Bali’s best venues nearby, including Living Room, Hu’u, and Kudeta, and all the fun, lower end, but stylish, restaurants of Oberoi Road. The beach too isn’t too far away and transport can be organized to take you there from the resort.

While we stayed there recently in the school holidays, families were the predominant force and a large wedding group was making their presence felt, but if it all got too rowdy there was always sanctuary to be found in your own private villa. The 43 villas that comprise Sentosa are a mix of three-, four- and five-bedrooms in a Balinese family-compound layout with separate buildings for bedrooms, living rooms and kitchen, and each has their own private and large swimming pool. The buggy service provided shuttles guests from their villas to the main resort area, or a stroll through the winding walkway is another option.

Sentosa Villas and Spa has a little bit for everyone and it has to be one of the best places in town to take advantage of what the Seminyak area has to offer. Great dining, great relaxation, great ambience inside and all the action you could ever require just around the corner.
